QAE Library/Lab Volunteer Opportunities
Below is a list of opportunities – some require a weekly commitment, but others would be more like “volunteer on demand” -VOD.

Library Volunteers
Be in the library, supporting students with the book searching
Talking and getting excited with students about books
Returning books to the library shelves
Reading to small groups
Check-out books to students using the cataloging system
Scanning student work
*Filled* Plant – Once a week (15 minutes)
Weekly, come into the library and water the plants
Book Covering – VOD
This job is needed when new books are ordered that are not “shelf ready”. The volunteer will be trained on how to cover library books.
Student Work Scanner
The job requires the volunteer to scan student work and either upload to student websites or save to flash drive. Volunteers will be trained on how to scan and upload to Weebly (a web tool used to create student and class websites).
Photograph Student Work - VOD
Volunteers for this job will photograph student art around the school, name each file and upload to the QAE server. There will be training for this opportunity.
